The Boyer family settled in the Cotes de Thongue region over two centuries ago. The beginnings of the estate go back to 1794. To this day, Domaine La Croix Belle has been a family-run business, passing from father to son for generations. In 1977, Jacques and Françoise Boyer decided to make a radical shift to the family business, striving to attain the highest quality of winemaking possible. They replanted their vineyards and reduced their yields to ensure their harvests are healthy with highly concentrated grapes. Drawing from past generations, combined with modern techniques in winemaking, the winery underwent a shift that contributed to today’s renewal in Languedoc winegrowing and the production of wines with character, style and identity..

Situated in Languedoc-Rousillon, France

La Croix Belle’s vineyards are situated in the Côtes de Thongue region in the South of France between the Massif Central and Mediterranean Sea. This proximity to the Sea and particular soils contribute greatly to the character of the wines. The grapevines are grown under the most favourable conditions with deep roots in a terroir composed of clay, limestone, gravelly soil, silt and pebbles. The climate is exceptional for grape-growing, in that it provides an ample amount of sunlight, all the while being cooled by the Mistral sea breezes and cool night winds off of the Cévennes. These essential winds aid in keeping the vineyards healthy. A modern, state-of-the-art facility working to produce high-quality wines.

Well over two centuries of generations have worked this property and so much knowledge has been generated and passed on from father to son since before 1794. The present family, Jacques and Francoise Boyer, have been at the helm since 1977 and under their guardianship, passion and ambition to produce quality wines, the estate has thrived and continues to do so for the next generations.
