La Jara
↓
La Jara is a family run winery owned by the Marion family that was established in 1891 in the Treviso district of Veneto, Italy. The winery was established as a fully operational organic winery in 1999. La Jara means “gravel” in the local dialect, which comprises the unique terroir of the region and imparts the distinctive characteristics to the grapes.
At La Jara, their love for the land, nature and the beautiful fruits it produces has been passed down from generation to generation. The philosophy at La Jara is that “nature is a perfect mechanism,” and this remains true in the work that they do at the winery, from tending the vines year-round to allowing nature’s natural process to produce the best yields in each vintage year. They are a fully organic and biodynamic estate, specializing in sparkling and the production of still wines that are certified Organic and Vegan by the Environmental and Ethical Certification Institute.

The WINery

Situated in Veneto, Italy
Stretching across 50 ha of land surrounding the winery, the long rows of vines are situated on terroir composed of unique white limestone gravel from the river Piave. The gravel stones absorb the heat during the day and slowly release it at night. As a result, this gives the grapes the fruity, floral, varietal aromas and mineral freshness, evident in their wines.
Utilizing a modern, technological process in wine making, allows the integrity of the variety characteristics to be transferred from the grape to the final destination of the finished product in bottle.
